Every project below started as a pattern we saw across our cases — a system that was breaking people instead of helping them. Every action is a piece of that work: a brief filed, a rule changed, a coalition built.
An investigation of inequitable housing law enforcement and creation of a due process scorecard.
The project aims to investigate the equitable enforcement of housing laws in six jurisdictions through qualitative interviews, quantitative surveys, legal mapping, and data tracking. The findings will inform a funding announcement and a validated assessment tool to address structural inequities in housing enforcement. The research team will collect data from various stakeholders, including government officials, housing organizations, and individuals affected by housing laws.
Our role is to create an eviction due process best practice (EDPBP) policy book for practitioners and scorecard to benchmark jurisdictions nationwide.
