Eviction cases move fast and are often decided at first appearance, so we asked the Michigan Supreme Court to require a tenant resource sheet with every eviction summons. Despite support from a wide coalition, the Court declined. Then the pandemic hit, and the Court adopted an interim order requiring courts to do exactly that. Some ideas just take time to marinate.
