SOCD Graduated 17 People and Closed 114 Cases in Its First Year

In 2012, Street Outreach Court Detroit completed its first full year—and the numbers tell the story. Seventeen participants graduated from the program, and 114 cases were closed, clearing legal barriers that had been standing between people and stable housing, employment, and peace of mind.
Street Outreach Court meets people where they are—literally—bringing the court process directly to people experiencing homelessness rather than expecting them to navigate a system that wasn't built with them in mind. Year one proved the model works.
