Filed Amicus Brief in People v Ormsbee Challenging Court-Funding Statute

With Detroit Justice Center, ACLU of Michigan, Michigan State Planning Body, Legal Services Association of Michigan, and — new to this round — Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, we're again arguing that MCL 769.1k(1)(b)(iii) is unconstitutional, on the same separation-of-powers and due process grounds raised in Johnson and Edwards. The case is currently pending before the Michigan Supreme Court.
