Pushed the State to Fix Court Forms That Never Mentioned Ability-to-Pay Rights

The Michigan Supreme Court adopted most of our recommendations.

Although the Michigan Supreme Court amended its Court Rules in 2016 to require an ability-to-pay assessment before jailing someone for unpaid fines, none of the court-approved forms had been updated to tell defendants about that right. We asked the Court to fix its forms, and it did.
